BASI® Pilates: an thoughtful, modern, and structured approach
My teaching is based on the BASI® Pilates repertoire, both on the mat and using equipment (Studio Comprehensive). This approach allows me to tailor the work with depth and precision to each context and each individual.
Created by Rael Isacowitz, the BASI® Pilates method is internationally recognized for its precision, adaptability, and holistic view of movement.
The BASI® Pilates approach is rooted in classical Pilates while evolving through current knowledge of anatomy and movement sciences. It respects the body’s natural functioning and adapts to all body types — because every body is unique.

—– It is grounded in 10 core principles —–
Awareness
Being fully present in every movement builds a deep connection between body and mind.
Balance
Pilates cultivates balance between strength and flexibility, stability and mobility, as well as between the front/back, left/right, and upper/lower parts of the body — while fostering inner balance through a deep connection between body and mind.
Control
Each movement is performed with intention to ensure safety and effectiveness.
Efficiency
The body learns to move with intelligence, using only the energy it truly needs.
Precision
Pilates emphasizes knowing exactly which muscles and structures you are using to create each movement, ensuring optimal alignment and effectiveness.
Breathing
Breath supports and guides movement, bringing flow, focus, and oxygen to the system.
Concentration
Staying mentally focused enhances movement quality and fosters mindfulness.
Centre or “core”
Is the powerhouse from which all movement originates.
Flow
Movements are performed in a continuous, graceful sequence to promote energy flow.
Harmony
Pilates seeks harmony between breath, movement, and mind — creating not only inner balance, but also elegant and aligned body lines.
Although I remain loyal to the BASI® method, I enjoy incorporating thoughtful, innovative touches when they align with my clients’ abilities and goals.
